Montenegro's EU Triumph and the Thrill of Paragliding Adventure
Montenegro has taken a significant leap forward on its path to joining the European Union. As of 16 December 2025, the country has opened all 33 negotiating chapters with the EU and provisionally closed 12 chapters, including five newly closed ones announced at the Accession Conference in Brussels. This progress marks Montenegro as the most advanced candidate among the Western Balkans, with reforms praised in areas such as business climate, public procurement, and rule of law. The government aims to close all chapters by the end of 2026 and join the EU by 2028, though the final accession depends on broader political decisions within the EU.
