The UP TORRE is a new-generation EN/LTF C two-liner designed for ambitious XC pilots who want to exploit the top end of the C class with maximum speed and glide. Announced as a 2026 model, it transfers competition-wing technology into a certified performance platform aimed at distance hunters who are ready to work with rear-riser control and fly actively in real air.
Two-liner performance for demanding XC pilots
As UP’s first EN/LTF C-certified 2‑liner, the TORRE radically reduces line consumption and drag, delivering a very high top speed and impressive glide across the whole speed range. With 67 cells, an aspect ratio of 6.45 and fully unsheathed, colour-coded lines, the wing is clearly targeted at experienced pilots who already feel at home in the C segment and want more efficiency on transitions.
One of the central promises of the TORRE is how it behaves in turbulent XC conditions. Where many 2.5‑ or 3‑liners lose glide in rough air, the TORRE turns bumps into climb, using efficient rear-riser steering to maintain or even gain height on bar. This is especially attractive for competition-oriented XC pilots who like to fly accelerated for long stretches.
Aerodynamic package: stability, speed and precision
Advanced canopy architecture
The TORRE combines a new high-performance airfoil with a comprehensive internal rod architecture. Front and rear section supports, Bottom Surface Support and carefully tuned Mini Ribs all work together to keep the profile undistorted at high speed. Negative and Triple 3D shaping clean up the leading edge, while Air Intake Tension lines stabilise pressure over a wide angle-of-attack range. The result is a rigid, pitch-stable wing that cuts efficiently through active air.
Winglets for directional stability
A distinctive innovation for UP is the integration of winglets on a serial XC wing. On the TORRE they are used to enhance directional stability in straight flight, especially accelerated, and to calm spiral behaviour and exits. Combined with the slightly crescent planform, they create a balance between agile, pleasant thermalling and solid tracking on bar.
Pilot profile and safety envelope
The TORRE is positioned above the already sporty TRANGO X in the C class. It is aimed at frequent flyers with strong active flying skills who want to consciously explore the upper limits of EN‑C performance. Because of the pure 2‑liner configuration, classic B‑stalls are not available as a descent technique; solid spiral experience and comfortable rear-riser handling are therefore expected. At the same time, the wing retains the safety reserve typical of the C category, with a collapse-resistant, well-damped canopy that remains centred above the pilot even in strong thermals.
Sizes, materials and equipment
The TORRE is offered in five sizes (S–XL) covering take-off weights from approximately 65 to 130 kg. Glider weights range from around 4.25 kg (S) to 5.15 kg (XL), competitive for a high-performance C 2‑liner. The sail uses a proven mix of Dominico and Porcher fabrics, while the line layout combines Liros DC, Edelrid 8001 and other high-end lines optimised by size for minimum drag and long-term trim stability.
Delivery includes the UP Parasleeve 3 concertina bag, spare main riser lines, compression strap, repair patch and e‑manual. Serial colour schemes are complemented by an online colour customiser, allowing pilots to design their own look.
